Internship

Hey hey, suddenly remembered tht I have a blog.lol.have been so occupied last semester and now I'm busy with my intern. How are y'all lately? Hope everyone is doing fine :)

Well, my intern suppose to start at 1st of july but due to the request of my boss, I agreed to start my intern a month earlier than my friends.that is in the month of june right after my birthday.Initially the boss wanted me to start working on my birthday but, I requested to delay for a day. (Who likes to work on their birthday? Siao meh) on top of that, I was having my final exams in the month of june but they allowed me to take day off to sit for my papers. to work and to study is kinda stress if you can relste to that, I don't really have time to study because of the work load. Almost everyday I worked overtime to get my work done. What an experience. (Beacuse of those "wonderful" clients -.-)

Anyhow I only have three papers to sit for since the rest are 100% coursework.That's the pros of being an art student. Hah! however, during the semester, we're constantly busy with assignments.

I got my intern quite late since I don't really have the time to search for it. But I knew it's going to be in Penang. I wanted to be in Penang because I wanna explore this place, in short I like Penang.(another reason would be, CM Lim :3) Before starting my uni life, seldom will I go to Penang but, there are two major events of my life that took place in Penang, that is when I had my national service and being a student in USM +I like the church I'm attending now.it was the church that I attended during my national service back then. ;)

Last semester, I was caught up with a theater performance for my senior's final year project. I've agreed to help her since the previous sem and so I was busy going for rehersal and so not forgetting my assignments and other commitments.The busyness tireds me out but I do feel that I've used my time to the fullest. Haha!

Back to the topic, I've tried sending e-mail and resume to a few company which I'm interested. Mainly advertising agencies cause I'm a graphic student but there wasn't any reply. Instead of waiting, I called up to ask whether there's any vacancy for interns.The first one didn't really worked out, the 2nd one wanted me on the spot but my heart wasn't settle for it. I was waiting for another company and so I prayed and called up again. so they arrange an interview specifically for me.
The interview that I went to is the one most intern would be afraid of...testing your skills on the spot! I was kinda shocked when they say there are going to give me a small test.before that they already given me an IQ test when I fill in the form and guess what, they say I'm the 2nd one (of all tht came for interview) who got it all correct and they added I should pat myself on the shoulder since I've never done this IQ test before.lol. I startled but ofcz all the glory to God for His wisdom. so I took the 2nd test and do whatever I can according to the topic given in 45 minutes using illustrator. Only after that I show them my portfolio, artworks and assignments that I did in Uni. The boss actually complimented about my work. Wow, I was like in cloud nine because the boss affirmed me that I have a future in this industry. It was rather comforting as I know I'm on the right track ;) *happy girl

Getting into this company in Penang is what I wanted and I do thank God for it. Though I did grumble for the heavy workloads, I do learned a lot and still learning.

P/s: felt that I'm like a full time staff, under paid. Lol (Like a foreign worker, work so hard, earn so little >.<) but what counts is the the experience I get, in which money can't buy! ;)

lovely september

Well, I'm back to my Uni once again and imma senior already.. At first I was rather down that I have to be saperated with my previous roomie nevertheless we should always look forward.. This is a short post about the happenings in this month. I decided to cramp everything in one post due to my laziness. :P

As I've mention in the previous post, I had been working throughout my whole semester break ever since I came back from my Beijing trip...(and I havent even updated about it *face palm) So, yea.. I got enough money to get a new handphone before my uni starts..fully paid by myself /hmm

Manage to took some pictures with my colleagues before I leave...hehe! Got a treat from Yuki because we are able to hit the target for that month as well as a farewell for us. The salty egg crab is finger licking good!!

Another fun-filled day off

yes, yesterday was my off day again..wee~ another four more days, I'll be shaking my leg at home (just for another week b4 next sememster starts, nooo  /no). Initially, I thought of joining mommy for excercise at 7am. but, she didn't wake me up because it was raining the whole night til morning.so, I woke up at about 9 and prepared myself for an exciting day :D

Went to puiyun's grandparents house to make "gai dan gou", chinese steam cake because we planned to visit our form 6th teachers in the afternoon with jin liang aka the skinny guy (he looks skinny as always no matter how much he eats, so not fair =.=)

The teachers loved it. Manage to catch up with them and crap a little as usual. It's fun to talk with your teachers as if they are your peers..darn funny ge lo. btw, Miss Tham is giving birth next month, didn't know she is pregnant already. imma so outdated. :P

After the visitation, went for karaoke at K-Box, dinner and night market nearby..Spending the day with my dear crystal aka puiyun.

The Appetizer

Started working since I came back from Beijing. So, I didn't really got the time to update about my trip but, I promise I'll post it up as soon as I've finish sorting and editing the pictures.hehe! (I'm a procrastinator pls forgive me) :P

I really enjoyed the trip because I got to know a lot of new friends from Canada. Guess what, they are chinese who migrated from China and they came back for holiday. Hope to visit Canada someday.

So, here's a sneak peek of my Beijing get away for you to stay tunned. :D

I'm starting to love traveling. Maybe I should start traveling within Malaysia. haha!

P/s: I'm working because i'm saving up to buy a new handphone. I lost my phone last semester and there's no use crying over spilled milk. I'm sure I'll be more careful with my stuffs next time. That was a lesson to learn. Anyway, I'm willing to work for it! Goodnight peeps. /bye

Swiss made Swatch

this is a late post..

but, i decided to blog about it since

i have the time to do so. =P

A few weeks back, 

i worked as a part timer for Swatch

 they had a roadshow in Ipoh to promote their newly launched special edition watch.

fyi, Ipoh don't have any Swatch outlet

so, it's jz a small atrium around the corner beside the escalator near G2000

(for any1 who lives in Ipoh will get a clearer pic)

It's was a great experience

in which i get know some

product knowledge about different type of watches.

the material used,

functions,

international waranty and so on..

my supervisor even lend us her own swatches to wear for the whole week.
(just incase some aunty/uncle ask:"u sell swatch but, u don't wear gea?" not so convincing right? )

she warned us not to scratch the surface of the watch
 which is made of mineral crystal or else 

we need to buy it from her.

lol

it's a joke..bt, me and my friend take it seriously.

we took it off for every break time and whenever we go to the toilet.

just to prevent any scratches. =P

alot of customer like it.but, it's not available anymore.

hehe!

For roadshows like this,

our basic is not much for a day..

but, we have commission for each watches sold depending on the price

of the watch..

we also have incentive when we hit our daily target and the target for whole week.

for the 1st day, business in not that good..

so, when i go home, i prayed about it.

the next day,  i got myself a customer who bought

 the whole set of special edition.

 at 1st i couldn't believe what i heard when he asked me how much if he want the whole set

and i thought he was joking

so, i asked my supervisor to confirm.

the answer is yes.he want the whole set.

i'm like O.O

i was so overly delighted but, i suppressed it

cause we need to maintain a level of professionality =P

it cost him RM2090.

 turns out that he's a swatch fan/collector

so filthy rich lor..

he seldom wears it but only showcase them inside his room.=.=

the whole week went on very well

and we're able to hit the accumulative target for the week.=D

overall, we really did worked hard to hit the target.(not just stand there)

we explained every detail to every customer who came across,

maintained a pleasant eye contact

and try our very best to answer the question thrown to us.

our effort pay the price.

was quite satisfy with myself.kinda good at persuading ppl =P

really thank God for His faithfulness~

it's a new month

it's a new month and definitely a new start for me ^^

opps i did it again..

just want to share with u guys that i'm goin to quit my job..=D

what? yea~

probably looking for a better one..hehe!

shh!!!

honestly saying, this company don't provide much employee benefits

too many rules to follow and the stress just goes on and on.. 

 I was curious why in the world they don't provide chairs or a place for customer to sit down 

   (so that we-workers can sit down for awhile when there isn't any customer)

XD

 Besides that, it's terrible that we (just worked for a few months) need to

  pay for the missing stocks

    while the company doesn't provide any tools like shop theft sensor to prevent it..

     even watson has this not to mention having so many stores in malaysia..

prevention is better than cure..

having this preventive methods atleast 

 we don't need to worry so much about theft and paying for the missing stock..>.<

IF i'm saying IF their silly excuse is to save cost on company's expenses 

i call it selfish and irresponsible..

how do u expect us to keep watch over everyone who walks in 

when we just have a pair of eyes and the crowd keeps on coming in? 

(especially weekends and public holiday)

just because 'U' wanna save cost, we risk to pay through our nose..unfair lor.

+i'm not a confirm staff yet =.=

they let me be a part timer for the 1st 2 months bcz they wanna have more comission

since less permanant staff they can get more comission when divide among themsleves.

WTH?

I've been a customer also and i don't quite like it when people following me around 

  talking this and that while all i want is just leave me alone and if i'm interested,

  i'll call for your help..right?

now in turn, i'm that annoying person following people around..=.=

if i don't follow the customer or talk to them more 

(introduce other stuffs to them), 

i'll get reprimand for it..sad case*shake head*

sometimes we need to give some space for the customer to think..

bashing them with crap won't help to get them buy things..

PUHLEESE~

for me, i think it's sufficiently enough to inform them(customer)the current promotion..

and let them walk around..

if somehow they look interested on certain things, explain to them about the product too..

it would be much better though..=)

it's good to set target for everyday's sales..

but, if there's not much customer coming in, how do you expect the sales to be high..

common sence right?

it's not that we don't work hard enough!?

besides, i that think we shouldn't  bring our personal emotion to work

right? like unleash your anger on someone else.. 

i understand everyone has their high and lows..

but, when you work please make it clear don't transfer the anger to us..lol

it's so WRONG !! =D

nonetheless i'll say something good about my working place

it has taught me alot..really alot..haha~

life lesson that cannot be learn in text books..

so, thanks to you guys..(Aw..)

i love the people but, just sometimes dislike how they work. hehe!

i'll surely "miss" you Jason..and don't say so much vulger language larh~

when we're studying, we cant wait to start working

when we started working, we can't wait to go back studying

i find out that working can be quite lifeless cause it's like

 going through the same routine everyday

 for me it's kinda boring..lol

anyway, i still need to pay for the missing stocks before i leave.

i heard that it's not a small amount 

$$$ goes flying away le..T.T

just wanna tell the bosses out there to walk in our shoes too..

appriciate your worker and surely they'll be so willing to "fight" for u..
